Father in Law has had Not basil but Melanoma 17 Times! SO many that he was involved in a case study group for Gene identification. He has beaten all of them. It is not fun and his back has Football shaped scars all over it. The key is to keep after it. DO NOT let your appointments slide. These need to be treated ASAP. Dad goes in every three months and they are always burning freezing lopping something. Stay with it friend and keep positive about it.

I'm positive about it! Positive I'm one ugly dude now!!! But, I'm okay and will be in the future. Makes good subject material, and maybe brings some good exposure to a nasty thing that happens to us here and there. Someday I'll get a role in hacker flicks! I'll be a star!!!

They say better Lucky than good and better ugly than dead! Keep the faith. You are probably more bothered by it than anyone else and that is understandable.

Deep, As you know from your experience with these Mohs surgeries on your face too, after the surgery is complete in an area and they have determined that all of the cancerous cells have been removed. depending on how big an area they wound up operating on, the surgeon then begins pulling and pushing to get the skin they need to close up the area and stitch it to stay and heal where they want it to so you look half human, or if you will, as close as possible to your sexy self again. A minor plastic surgery if you will. Now, if the man is like you and me and has had several of these Mohs surgeries on his face and like me, several on one side of the face, you are left with somewhat of a rougher face to shave since now one side of your face has been pushed and pulled and drastically changed your original beard and how it grows. Of course the upside is that the left side of my face looks like I'm 35 years old while the right side is still the 73 year old me!!! LMBO Anyhow, I found it hard to find an electric razor that would give me a close shave on the left side until I bought one of those Norelco electric razors with a triangle shaped, three cutting head, razors that sort of floats and cuts in five directions while shaving and perfect for that uneven face after these Mohs surgeries and the ups and downs and ins and outs of your new face surface.. They start at about $80.00 and are worth every penny to me to get a good, clean shave. Just thought I'd pass that on to you.

In 1964, I was at Fort Lewis, and I had terrible acne, up to 28 new dripping pimples every day. I went on sick call, and was told I needed to wash my face better. After a couple sick calls and no improvement, I was spending an hour a day washing my face, and still the idiots insisted I needed to wash it more. Finally, I got a different doctor, who told me to stop washing it. And the doctor gave me a profile not to shave for a couple weeks. Every sergeant I saw needed to review my profile papers... He also gave me tetracycline pills, and in two weeks my face was clean.

I took a lot of heckling because the doctor happened to be the VD specialist at that clinic. Well, he knew his infections.

I learned that if I shaved with a metal razor the pimples came back. All these years, I have had to use the Norelco razors like you describe.

Age 70 sure isn't as pretty as age 21!

Had a dental cleaning this morning, and my dentist has a new assistant from Columbia, South America. Oh man she was nice looking, about 35 - 40, and just as sweet as she could be. I think I'll need another cleaning soon!

The wound is pretty much healed now. So, here's what I look like now!

From here, no point in continuing in this thread = unless she & I happen to get together, which is beyond any chance..... She does have my phone number, rather the office does :(

Deep, Looks like it healed up real well brother. Your area is identical to mine except that mine is on my left side, slightly bigger and yours is on the right. Oh yeah, and I am better looking too!!! LMBO Don't worry either about that thinner lip area/section either. It makes a great place to put a straw when drinking with one now, although some liquid may dribble out easier every now and then! LOL. Take care buddy and have a good one.

Hey Deepseeker,

Quick healing is supposed to be a sign of good health.

Have you ever wondered if your posts affect others? Maybe even provide just enough of a push to visit a doc? I just got back from my first visit ever to a dermatologist - skin cancer specialist at age 64. All I really needed was to get a skin tag removed that had grown on my eyelid to the point that it was large enough to be irritating my eye. At the same time, I had my first ever skin cancer screening. There is no history of skin cancer in my family and I thought of you when deciding to have it done. Took only a few minutes because I had nothing remotely worth checking further. At the same time that I wish you well, I also thank you for posting and maybe getting someone else to visit their doc. Your posts may save a life. Be well, friend.

Hey Deep, After seeing your first picture in this thread, I thought very hard about a serious matter! Now I come back in here after being off for a couple of weeks and see your second picture. That second pic convinced me buddy to follow through on my initial thought, so I wanted to let you know what I decided...……...I will be praying for you everyday brother because if anything ever happens to you then I'd be the ugliest man left alive!!! LMBO!! Have a good one Deep and for goodness sake, STAY SAFE!!!! Later Brother. LOL

Wow guys, I've just been so concentrated on my own personal battles... The thoughts that I might actually influence someone else, those were never my thoughts or intentions. I was in the "Woe is me" syndrome.

I'm okay now, where I thought I was rotting apart. Nothing new here, but still in care. Maybe I'll like getting really really ugly along the way :)

Well, I am glad that you are OK with your "outer "Being"/appearance... "we" can also "work" with your (ANYONE's) Inner "Being", too; had to do it for myself. I was a Psychological Counselor (M.Ed.), working with ppl with VARIOUS disabilities, inmates in a MAX Prison in Va., then I had to use it on myself (HA!).

Now, I work with Vets with VARIOUS Disabilities, MOSTLY with Vets that have Traumatic Brain Injuries (from I.E.D.). Donated ALL my books, papers to the Vet Center @ CVCC (Central Virginia Community College) here in Lynchburg, Va. Work with families, too (NOT sure if V.A. does...).

Ugly you're not. Nor will be.....As long as your soul is not disfigured.

My father who was hit hard by radiation in the early 60s Nuke testing was gave a 75k payout from the dept of justice.
They told him they did the same thing for agent orange survivors also.
You have to go through the dept of justice though. The VA will not tell you about it.
