Naval ordnance
Mster horizontal bombardier, 11 mil average error
Bomb sight and auto pilot mech.
Guadalcanal campaign Aug 11, 1942 and on up to Japan, including old China.
I personally know every cottin pickin womanless island in the Pacific.
However, even so, those hairy butted jarheads still didn't
look interesting to me
After the war went to college for pre-med training, then off to the new USAF
flight training to become an officer.
Ever since I have been a bone fide tropical Tramp.

Actually Terry, except for the ultimate sacrifice by some unknown gyrenes, I wouldn't be here to bug you Some day I will have to post about 'James Francis Pierce, corpman 3c' who I later found in 43 with his entire squad still in their foxholes in the Jungle. They are now buried in Arlington.

Very sad. As a CAP commander, I recieved a metal for planning and executing 300 ambushes and patrols without an American fatality (around Tam Ky). We had some Viets die, one close enough to touch when he got it. That was during the Tét offensive of '68. ALOT of sh*t. But we made it. Sometimes I wonder how.... TTC

US Navy 1972 to1974 boot, great lakes A school philadelphia then on to USS Forresall for two years in the med
Was a hull teck or fireman.Worked out of the damage control shop,had a great job,whent to greese,Italy, spain, turky,
africa and france.Retired out 1974 with a bad injury to shoulder.

Just knew I couldn't be the only "Bee" on here!
My journey started in early 1969 with Boot Camp in San Diego
Next was EO "A" School in Port Hueneme until Aug'69
Then was a year in Fallon,NV at the then NAAS until Sep1970
On to 13 months in the Aleutians on the island of Adak, Oct'70 - Oct'71
At this point I picked up MCB 10 on their return from Nam and home ported in Port Huneme,Ca., Nov'71 - Apr'72
Went with "Men of 10" to Rota, Spain and then went on a small detail to Todendorf, Germany, Apr'72 - Oct'72
Back to Hueneme for a few months until discharged in Dec'72
