ID:	997549Yup, normal for quartz and granitic gravel to get spit out. The specific gravity of that stuff is less than 1/5 that of gold so the fluid bed will start kicking it out fairly soon after you start shoveling. The trap in the mini only holds a couple handfuls of gravel so after that much is in the trap, something has to start coming out as you add more material. Rather have the gravel come out than the gold right?!?

Here is what I setup. I can basically stick the rods into the creek at whatever height I want, place a rock underneath the lower end and go to work, not having to worry about building up any rocks around it to keep it secure. Seems to work alot more efficient for me.

I like that. If you don't have a patent pending I believe I have found my new frame. Is that 1/2" rod?

Very ingenious idea str8. As I was cussing the river this morning because it didn't have a nice pre-made shelf for my BGT, I was thinking some type of frame would make the setup job so much easier. Now I have ideas in my head to build a frame to hold the BGT above the river rocks.

No patent yet but I do take donations lol it is 5/8" rod with large washers atop and bottom of the aluminum bars to help stabilize the BGT.

Thx. Its not pretty, but 10 minutes and some parts and I had a faster way to setup my sluice and process dirt faster.. we all know more dirt=more possible gold! I just enjoy the fact that I can now adjust to the height of the water on the fly now (might be even easier if I had used wing nuts *hint hint*) and pop it into any part of the stream without having to build up rocks around it.

The Simpson ties are a little flimsy but I think it will work. I am trying it out Saturday. You'll see the results Sunday.

That is a really good looking idea. Do you think that setup would be tuff enough for a sniper? Because I am thinking about making a stand and am getting tired of messi g with rocks making little water dams for good flow
