We don't have the touristy swimming beaches up here in Northwest Washington. For one thing the water is just to cold but we do have local community swimming and fishing docks that can produce some nice finds with the lower minus tides a few times a year. Dry sand hunting is not as good as hunting the low tides under dock areas. Boat launches can be good hunting also. The best hunting is in the fresh water lakes. Here are some finds from hunting the saltwater beaches here in Puget sound around local fishing/swimming docks.

it's good to see that there are some places to hunt. I know the water is cold and don't draw the crowds but I do see people wading and surfing on the Oregon coast. The docks are a great idea. Thanks.
