VLF vs. Pulse Induction vs. Multi-Frequency

A quick synopsis for those that don't know the difference between the 3 different types of detectors:

1) VLF (Very Low Frequency) (Motion) Detectors: Best for land and fresh water.
2) Pulse Induction Detectors: Best in salt water. Generally will pick up the deepest targets. These detectors do not need motion.
3) Multi-frequency: a universal detector. A little more expensive. "...these detectors often find more targets per day than pulse or motion detectors."

I found the above in a well-written book "Beach and Water Treasure Hunting with Metal Detectors" by Captain Daniel Berg.

i disagree with #3,that one should be #2. also my pi does need motion to work
