It's not so much they weren't there...it's because they were there but too deep to find (I think).

I would also say they were there but too deep at the time. That's an old gold ring and looking at the silver one I'd say they both were down deep.

It's amazing how much sand can shift in a short period of time :o.

nice but looks like you nailed the gold ring with the scoop. oh well.boy do we get pumped up just finding one ring, never mine two, but three. i would still be their looking till my batterys ran dead
