    San Diego metal detecting.

I will be on a business trip next week in San Diego and wanted to know if it would be worth it to take my detector with me. I would like to know if/where detecting is permitted. Please give me some advise. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I never saw this post until today. So...next time you're out here, you can always hit the beaches. San Diego City Beaches are legal to TH. (I've had cops and lifeguards kid me about what I've found, but never told me I can't hunt there.) Further north in the county, the beaches are mostly state beaches, falling under the state park system. Ask the rangers at the entry booths to the parking lots.

I've also had luck searching in playgrounds in city parks, as long as they aren't the kind with that rubberized surface. The sandy ones are good, though. The one thing to remember is that the parks and recreation service don't like people digging holes in their turf. Stick to the sand and have fun! HH!
