Hey All,

Got out on a short hunt today, water was a little rough though. Found a junk ring( looks like it was plated maybe) and also some kind of dental piece ??? Looks like it is gold (no markings though) , passed the magnet test and I did a scrap test and it isn't plated. It's about 2.1 grams on the scale. Guess I'll have to get an acid test kit now. Oh well :D

HH All,
Gobyman

yep, you found what is referred as a grill. I have a set also, they may only be 9 -14 k gold, they cost the owner a bundle for the dentist to make them. Usually it's around several $1000.00 to make the basic set like you have. As you probably could guess the sky's the limit on some of these grills as they also have diamonds set into them. Nice finds.

I historically have recovered 3 of them, they have all been gold, one had crappy diamonds and NONE are stamped that I've recovered. All will be accepted at the refinery of your choice. Clorox before trying them on though, LOL!

Ring looks like an OOPS! Dentures are usually 10K. Nice! ;D

I found one last year at Waikiki beach in about 4 ft. of water.
Cashed it in. ;D

these are usually just for decoration...not actual dentures

Hey All, Thanks for the info on the grill. Gold is gold right? 8) Guess I've been very fortunate in the 11 months since getting into this great hobby of finding great "first" finds of specific items and I hope it continues :icon_pirat: I'm thinking about trying my hand at some land base MD'ing for relics,(looking at getting an Etrac machine) so hopefully my luck from beach md'ing will carry over. LOL

Well HH,
Gobyman
