Two people apparently had an argument and the woman pitched her wedding set into a small pond. I am going meet the husband at the park to help look for it tonight and apparently get his rear out of trouble. I will be hunting for it with my CZ-21. Apparently he thinks he can put me within about a 5 foot radius of the ring. I have googled the pond and it is not big and hopefully not all that deep. But, my question is will white gold give me a medium tone on my CZ or will I get a high tone as if it were silver? Thanks.

Thank you FLA Bill - I did not know if whatever is added to a ring to make the gold white would make the tone sound like silver instead of gold. Thanks for you help - I will listen up for a medium tone.

There is a small difference between the sound of white and yellow gold. They are made from different alloys. White is sometimes harder to hear. Also the higher the karat the harder it is to hear.
White gold has nickel, and you know that is harder to hear than copper.
Then again a lot of white gold is plated with rhodium, and I have know idea what that sounds like.
