I was going to use it in the shallows. Something less intrusive while swimming at a crowded swimming area. More something fun to do if I can't take the big machine out.

Maybe not worth the money. Figured someone might have some good advice.

wouldn't go water hunting without it. i dump my scoop in a sifter and then recover targets at my leisure after all of the siftable stuff has run thru. speeds up recovery of coins that are hidden by gravel, shells etc. makes finding algae covered round sinkers, small earrings, etc. a breeze, you know the same stuff that keeps falling right thru your scoop.
