If I remember right it will be a medium tone. It has been awhile since I found any platinum. I usually hunt with the CZ20 set on 0 so I hear all three tones. :coffee2:

Thanks Sandman - I ususally hunt with it set on 1. I will probably dig every target just to be sure, but I was wondering what sound I should be on the look out for as to this type of ring. Apparently it is a heavy ring and it is sitting on a fresh water gravel bar. It apparently got here when the guy fell from his paddle board. Thanks.

Could it be that the size of the ring and the distance from the coil might have something to do with the detector giving it a certain tone. I think many detectors are just set to different specs and aren't the same as each other. A reason many tell us to learn our detectors.
