wonder how minelab will treat me in person ? visiting illinois new bldg.

sooo ive been reading all the bad press on minelab service here.

i have an older excal sword logo that is dead. i got it cheap and had it working

great when dry. as soon as i took it in the water. BOTH the main housing AND the battery pack flooded. now scrap. a learning experiance.

i had the fantasy that i would take this in and have it fixed and still have a relatively cheap machine. after reading on here i find out how unreal this is.

but wait i recently got a new to me excal2. it seems to work great except

when u turn it off it is not off.so i just unplug the battery connector and

do it thatway.

then i heard that minelab had recently moved their operations to

downers grove illinois. wow my old neighborhood.

dad still nearby and i visit often.

so im going there on a fact finding mission.

ill take the machine along to see if thell

let me depth test it against a new one.\


supposedly they have a fully equipped 'demo room'

according to ther press release.


im curious to see if they will treat me nice or be jerks.

also im goimg to mention all the complaints i see on here.


lets see what they say when they cant just put me on hold

It will be interesting to hear your report. Don't have high expectations, it takes time to move a company and set up new operations.........sometimes 2-3 years.

Make sure You have your BS meter set for full alert. Mine red-lined in the first 2 minutes of speaking with their PR guy

With all the excal complaints they've been getting, don;t be surprised if there's a security guard at the front door!
