Update: It's Real!! A 3/4 CT Diamond

Took the ring I found a few days ago to the jeweler and had it tested. It is a 3/4 CT Diamond set in 14K gold, in a "wrap" of 14K Gold with 14 very small but very real Diamonds!! Jewler appraised it at $2,500. I am in shock. Thank you Excalibur, yes your customer service sucks, but your detector is awesome!! HH and good luck to you all.

If you wish to get serious about knowing that stone's quality (not value), have it certified by GIA. They'll charge about $125 and take up to ten days, but then, with their Certification, you'll have a stone that can be offered and sold over the phone (after you do your research on comparable stones of comparable size, cut, clarity, color, etc.).
Great find!

Re: Update: It's Real!! A 3/4 CT Diamond

Awesome Find!
I found a ring valued like that a few years ago and sold it to one of the employees at my work for $600.00. Usually I'll price such items for about a 1/3 of their worth. It's a bargain for those looking to save money and I get a 1000% return because I found it, its found money. :coffee2:

Congrats, nice to see another hunter has joined the "3 Qtr" club. Got mine last year, appraised at $5300.

Sure is a great day to see a ring like yours in the scoop or in the hole! Nice Ring, take care.

I Congrat you on the ring, :headbang: I too also found a goodie with a Minelab machine, but I don't know if I agree with customer service sucking. I had service from Minelab and Dick is a real decent person to knowledge guy, never had a problem with C.S..

Glad you had a good experience with them, that makes 1 good to 4,387 bad ones I've read about in forums, that says "sucks" to me. Thanks for the congrats though.

Congrats!!! That guess at value--would that be the retail or insurance value or the liquidation value?

If 2500 is the liquidation / wholesale value then it is an extraordinary rock for it's size!!!!!!!

Well we haven't heard from him since. Should we call Homicide?
Oh I'm fine, I didn't care for the tone of your first post i.e. " guess at value" so I chose not to reply to it. I told you what the jeweler said, that should have been enough, of course I won't realize that much probably, it is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, like everything else, but I assure you it will bring more than most of the run of the mill stuff that most of us find the majority of the time. Hope that answers your question. HH

Re: Update: It's Real!! A 3/4 CT Diamond

I have heard that the joining /welding of more than one ring like this is a an Espanic idea ? were mum and dads wedding / engagment rings are joined together ( forever ) after parental death the joined rings are then past down to sons and daughters ?
If this is correct there will be a lot of sorrow and sadness connected with this item ( if it could only speak ) ??
