when folks post stuff its so ez to overlook the time

and money that goes into just getting to the beach.

for me a day of beach detecting cost about 18 dollars.

b4 i even turn on my machine. its 75 miles each way

and because the route goes thru several major towns

with lots of stoplights it takes 2 hours each way.

the breakdown is 16 gas and 2 dollar entry fee.

does this make me a diehard or pansy ?

how far or to what lenghts most go to get to the beach.

at least i get free parking !

It all depends which beach I go too. I have one that is only 15 mins away. I only go there 2 times a year. I hit others that is from 30 mins to 1 1/2 hours away. I have travel up to 4 hours for a weekend stay and then there is times where I take a week vacation and head to the ocean and that take at least 10 hours......Matt

Eh, it's about 15 min's or so away... so not much. And there's alot of places to park for free, depending which beach. I guess the only thing that really costs is missing the hours at work when I feel "a bit under the weather" *cough* ;D *cough*

Kidding...

From 10 to 20 min depending on traffic. I just park on the beach and motor along to different spots. St. Johns County has 16 miles of drive-able beach. In total there is over 40 miles of beach in St. Johns County. I rarely travel outside of the county.

In Key West I can see all the beaches from my top windows. Since I always use my bicycle, it costs me no money and five minutes in time.

One hour to the beach, 3 tolls, and it looks like they are building a new one on the beach line east of the airport. Old state 50 is looking better...
I bag a lunch so the day cost $20.00 on avg. All things considered still way ahead thanks to one nice platinum ring.

Almost every time I see a gold ring found at the beach it's FL. I guess you have to go where the tourists are :dontknow:

Nada. I'm a 10 minute walk from the beach. I go generally every morning for at least an hour on work days, unless I have to go in early. On my days off I either walk or I'll drive about 10 minutes and start from the opposit/furthest end of the hotels.
My lease is up next year and my wife has been making noise about finding another place because she'd like a pool. In that case I'll probably have to get up 30 minutes earlier in order to drive to the beach and get an hour hunt in.

From Kissimmee to Clearwater Beach today was $20.00 for fuel round trip and $6.50 for parking, $22.50 for a late lunch. If going to East coast then its about $10.00 to $20.00 round trip for gas, $10.00 for parking and another $20.00 for lunch on the way home. :dontknow:
