I finally got a chance to get out and hunt the outgoing tide today. First time in over two weeks. An amazing 4 ring day is great for me, even if only one was gold. I can't remember the last time I got 4 rings in a day. Hunted about 5 hours. Wet sand to the low tide line. It was too rough to get into the water today. Lots of trash as usual, $1.24 in clad, 2 junk earrings, and 4 rings. One 14k at about 4g, (right) 1-925 silver at about 3g (left), and 2 junk rings. However, they were all fun to find. I must admit that the little bit of gold for the day made it worth it. My last gold find was Sept 2nd, so it has been dry for quite a while. Hope your hunt was filled with treasure. HH, Ralph

Very Nice! 5 Rings, WOW! :headbang:

Still chasing my first gold. I guess it would help if I went to the beach more (Duhh!).

Do you use your Shark more than your Whites Dual Field?

Thanks for all the kind words..... I was using the Dual Field, but I would have found most of the stuff except a few pennies and one of the earrings with almost any detector. I did find one earring at about 18" deep and a few crusty pennies over 12" deep. The snuff can lid, some bobby pins and other iron junk were whispers at over 14" deep. Worth noting is the fact that all the rings were relatively light. Either they hadn't sunk out of sight or they were the first to get moved around with the shifting sand. HH, Ralph

Hey Smudge,
I usually know by the size and strength of the signal, when my target is a tent stake. I dig them up because I am hoping I am wrong, and it is a Rolex watch or a very heavy gold chain :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: I haven't found a Rolex watch or heavy gold chain yet, but I am still hoping...... Keep digging those tent stakes, keeps people from getting their bare feet hurt in the sand.....HH
