There's a beach here in Ohio that we get rocks that look just like that, I have heard them referred to as hot rocks (iron heavy) I think i heard someone say, have heard others say they where brought in when they extended the beach..... don't know any of this to be fact but have heard the hot rocks term from some of guys that been hunting this beach since the late 70s.

Looks like ya had fun.
