At first sight, I thought this was a brass ring...but turned out to be 14 K

Hi,

Hunted low tide / muddy flats yesterday.

Found this ring about 6" down with Sov. Elite

Also found what appeared at first sight to be a part of a pull tab, or a piece of junk metal, but I then noticed that its shape was symmetrical , so when I returned home, I checked it further ....tested14 K; looks like it might be part of a pin .

Here's pics before and after

thanks for looking

Lorraine

Same here Gaijun1; a crucifix ring was one of the rings on my "wish list"..and I am very pleased to have this ring in my possession.

What made me suspicious was that on my sovereign the tone was coming in too high for a small ring. Usually the tone is lower then a nickel for a ring this size, this was a bit higher thought not as high as silver. Sorry yours was not good either.

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks..

I remember the tone on the Elite as being medium , and with a "foil" quality sound;the sound was focused in a small area under the coil; perhaps this foil quality was due to the ornateness , filigree pattern of the ring . I alternate between the GT and the Elite..for no specific reason, but the tones do differ. I like the really high silver sounds of the Elite..I don't think the silver tones are as high with the GT. Will have to pay more attention to this in future hunts.
