With me wife, cart, and excal II in tow, detected the surf & sand at smathers beach keywest and south beach from the pier to 20th street ;D

While in keywest the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum is a must :icon_pirat: Along with the bars and sunset festival at mallory square :icon_thumleft:

Found coins in knee deep of water at smathers. The dig wasn't into sand but more a a muddy silt. :o

Found coins along south beach and piece of costume j :-[

The cart I fabricated out of PVC and emt worked well, it's a keeper

Saw some interesting suits, one of a man on smathers and another of a lady on south. Did you see the surfer behind the lady? :P

2 or 3 days the winds were 20-40 mph but temp was around 70, I'd take that any day over misery, I mean missouri weather :D

No gold, precious stones, valuable jewelry found :( but had a dream come true detectin the beaches of S FL :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

And here's a prime example of what it's really like to be a small guy. The girl in the red bikini is looking down because she just stepped on me! She apparently couldn't see my orange diver down float. Happens to me all the time. :laughing7:

That man (er, I guess man) should surely fall into some "decency" category of law enforcement.. I mean c'mon, should a guy of that age have so little common sense?? Can he look at himself in a mirror and NOT crack up??
Beyond gross... I mean at least women have bodies suited for that attire, not some old fart obviously short on attention.. Kind of like a really heavy woman wearing a thong... Some things are just flat out wrong..

Surfer? hmm have too look again. I was at Smathers in April 05 and it didn't even look detectable then. That guy must be one of the local umm alternative lifestyle folks. I really didn't need to see that lol, Glad you had a good time though

Glad you had great trip!!

Beachwise, the keys are a tricky kind of place. Years of boating has taught me that most of what looks like sand, isn't. Coral, and limestone are as likely as sand. And, many places the sand is only inches deep on a limestone base. All part of what makes it what it is, a beautiful place.

As for the pix, both the man and woman are part of what makes Key West, Key West. These pix are mild compared to what can be seen every day in that town. And, are nothing comapred to what can be seen every year when fanasty fest or what ever they call it rolls into town for a week or so. All part of the key West Vibe!!!!
