heres the lowdown on about 100 hours spent searching fm bch in mid feb.

many visitors this time of year but maybe 5 per cent visit the water.

my time was spent about 60/40. water to dry.

the water 60 hours coins and some junk jewelry. the biggest problem is cans and can piecs

may take up to 20 min per target to recover.

this due to sea mud which clogs the scoop and refuses to come out easily.

the shallows hold much slaw and pennies nothing heavy.

a few wearable sunglasses were the only brite spot.
i cannot say where the gold was. perhaps even deeper than the 12 to 18 in i was digging cans with with the excal2
i didnt get a chance to try the pi machine as i wanted to go shallower not deeper becuz so many cans
i switched to the excal 8000 and it helped some. nice to get that smaller coil INTO the hole ur digging

dry sand is more prod on coins but much junk also. i have found gold on this beach last yr but not this time

next yr i will try the pi at deepest then dry beach
saw no mone else in the water detecting

Unfortunately the water is still a bit cold, even for the northerners. I was down there last sunday. The beach was packed by 9am but there were very few people in the water. My group stuck to the sand and found a few coins, no jewelry, and trash. Had more luck with coins on Bunche Beach but pickings were pretty slim altogether. $3.18 total.
