Still no gold for me - YET!

I went to a couple beaches this morning and at the first I didn’t find much at all. An old fuse, a thing, lots of nails and one penny. I did meet another hunter who was just getting started as I was leaving but he was planning on hunting much deeper than I can go. He is a scuba hunter. He should do well at least better than I did there.

On to the next beach… This time I got luckier. I found a necklace - 925 Italy, a religious medal that has Sterling stamped on it and a ring which has 925 stamped inside. I just can NOT get the hang of making these silver finds shine! I've tried all kinds of cleaners, electrolysis and listened to all the pros but I just do not have the knack. OK so still no gold but I’ll take three silver any day!

I have no idea what this "thing" is

This Catholic religious medal which is stamped Sterling

and this little ring stamped 925. It was bent up pretty bad but I got most of it straightened out.

All in all a pretty good morning. I wish I could have stayed out longer. But..... there's always tomorrow. I hope your day goes as well or better.

I think the "thing" is a key chain. As to the silver, if nothing else works for you, buy some tarnex and give them a dip. Its hard on silver but it works for most things.

I use a Green Scrubby Pad on My black or green silver, it works fine, but I do not use that on Coins. The chain is Awesome. What is the Weight on that one?

Try putting some Tarnex in a small jar like a baby food jar just enough to cover the item and let ti soak for a few minutes. Rinse and if not clean, soak it again. Keep the Tarnex in the jar it can be used over and over again.

Nice finds Mums....Next time yer at the hardware , pick up a fine brass brush. They are the ones about the size and shape of a toothbrush. They do a great job of removing dirt and tarnish without scratching up the base metal.Work great on wheaties ,buttons ,rings, whatever.

Nice silver finds there Mumszie. Try a thick baking soda
paste with a toothbrush on the silver jewelery. Or
just use the paste and your fingers and rub the tarnish
off, rince and do it again if needed. Works pretty well
most of the time. GL Gold Nuggets :hello:

That chain is worth more than some small gold rings. I love your posts, keep em coming.
