Hank and I headed out to a near-by beach at mid-day; cloudy with rain threatening, but didn't happen.

Hank practiced his swing with a pitching wedge while I scouted the narrow beach for anything available.

It was great to get out in the fresh air and balmy weather.

here's pics

Also included is the latest pic of that 1889 "Liberty " nickel that I am trying to clean up. Just as I suspected, the right side of the obverse is worn away...can only see 10 stars at best....that's it. :(

Unfortunately the copper content of this coin has presented itself...coin is now being soaked in Palmolive liquid to try to reverse the nickel / copper ; had done this process with a "Buffalo" nickel a while back , and was successful in reversing the copper..not sure if it will work with this nickel. :dontknow:

thanks for looking :)

I was wondering that also Lorraine. Or you just gonna leave well enough alone?

The beach is the perfect place to practice bunker shots. :icon_thumleft:
Have played the game was even in a club for several years.
I'd opt for beach detecting any day. Less stress, less frustration.

The barnacled bottle is plastic...I'm not going to bother with it.

If it was glass, I would clean it just to see if it was an antique. I love finding old bottles.

I'm surprised that the barnacles adhered to the plastic...but then again, I know nothing about barnacles. :icon_scratch:

Bet your arm is sore from all that digging.

My arm used to be painful until I found this.

I highly recommend this treatment .

The piece is large, so I cut it in half for arm use.
