Interesting finds but no gold....Mayan ceramics...pictures

I finally took time off of work for a little rest and relaxation and of course to metal detect. There is a spot near an island where someone told me that I might be able to find old coins and maybe jewelry. I went by boat with a friend, put on the dive gear, grabbed the Excal, and jumped into the water.

After 15 minutes of not finding anything but a shell casing from the war, I started to find Mayan artifacts everywhere. I picked up a few of the interesting pieces and left the rest for another day.

JP - I am glad to see you are having fun finding all the neat artifacts, It makes you wonder who made them and when, They look really old, you know the who but If you have someone that can give you a date on when they were made let us know, some artifacts are worth more then gold - Cavedweller

hey cave buddy. The artifacts are pre conquest (pre-Columbian), over 500 years ago. I could find out a period by looking up similar designs at the museum over here. I really wanted to find gold but as mumszie says "I'll take it."

Did you get your surgery yet? Are you doing ok? Any good finds lately?
