For me the beach hunting season starts in October! Got the Phone call and off I went! Worked the wast and chest deep zone, competing with the tide! Had to shake the rust off and work quick! Time and target selection were crucial (area had a lot of can slaw)! Today was a fine day! Good friends and lady luck!! HH!

Thanks all!!

BW, my test kit only goes up to 22k and the ring was positive!!! I'll have to bring it to my jeweler to see if it is 24k!! never found a 22 or 24k before! when she surfaced the ring was in the center of the 2nd scoop.... so I don't think it was hit by the the scoop! After time in the water she has been roughted up a bit. Some times wonder how much gold gets rubbed off!

No clue to the makers mark :icon_scratch:?? Maybe put it in the what's it forum. If anyone has seen this kind of mark please give up your 2 cents :help:

P.S. CD thx but who's Herb :dontknow:

Got in my yearly 30 ± days of hunting this year, Gold (13), down from last but learned alot and enjoyed. Question for you, your winter season is just coming in, and you got some real nice old stuff. Is that due to the sands being pulled out because of the very negitive tides. Seems several in the Northeast start killing the old gold this time of year but your area is more out in the open.........thanks..joe

Dec., Jan., Feb., Mar., are the best months!! I have found about 65% or so during this time..... however I will pull doubles in one day usually on the -tides! Nor Easters are dreams come true! If one of my favorite beach is sanded in from a storm I can play at many different beaches which may be facing a completely different direction (90% of the beaches I hunt have a lot of history to them). During the last super low tides(2 week ago or so) my mentor called and had a suspicion about a cut on the beach that is underwater even at the -low tide! I have been pretty busy and had to wait until this week! Well he was right! A small area had opened up (may have been their since the hurricane hit last month)! My friend doesn't like to hunt deeper than his knees.... so he had me go out and look around! Hunting chest deep in a rocky bottom is brutal!! What a great friend :laughing7: I'll have to get him an early Xmas peasant! 13 in 30 is better than 33% that's impressive!! Just think when you retire that will be awesome! You seem like a great guy but I'm glad your a 10-12hr car ride away! :laughing7: :tongue3: HH!!
