Hi All!! My last post I told you that findings would start to become slim, boy was I wrong! It's been a week ago today that I hit one of my fav spots and hunted for 3 hours and turned up nothing except for some change,"God bless America", scissors, trinket and slaw. Moving to a place that I hunted before but not real good I took a different approach. In less than 30 minutes I saw what I assumed was a pulltab after a hit on my heater. Reaching down and lifting it out of the dirt and gravel it fell from my fingers. When I saw what it was I did my happy dance! Rolling along with a smile on my face and before it wore off I reached down again to what I assumed was another pulltab and lo and behold another ring, this one being a 10k W.B. It was'nt till I got home and looked through my glass that I saw what I thought was a white gold was Platinum! Yee haa!! My first plat! On inside it says "comfort fit plat" no grade of the plat. How can I find out grade, 800,900, I don't know. All I know is that it's a monster at 12.1 grams! What a wonderful hobby. I have never loved doing something as much as I have M.D. After all these years I still get super excited! Anyone want to go hunting? Let's go!! Detectahead

Very nice finds.
From what I remember reading a while back after 1974 if the mark is "Plat" or "Pt" it means it's 950. Anything less than 95% platinum will be marked accordingly.

Congrats on your Pt. I know that had to make your day. 10K is nice, but when mixed with some platinum.... that makes for an awesome hunt.

Sometimes a fresh approach to an old haunt makes all the difference. Way to go :icon_thumleft:

Great finds! I still have not made into the rivers in my area. After I spoke to you last, I took a health hit and have been a bit limited. As soon as things get better, I am in the water though. Snuck in a short beach hunt in Florida, (land hunt), but nothing serious.

You are hitting home runs almost every outing. Keep up the good work. It is a great hobby!!!!

Jim
