No gold today. There were 2 other hunters in the water today.... one with Xcal the other a PI with a HUGE coil. Bad news was i was heading South when i went in about 30 yards in front of me.... ouch. So i hunted behind him for awhile then got out and moved on down the creek about 3 0r 400 yards. The Xcal guy didnt find much at all. Of course the PI guy was more than willing show of the size 13 wide 14K mans ban he found when he first got in... ouch again. I found a little change, a nice silver ring and earring, the other earrings dont stick to a magnet but i think there junk. A shame to get gold skunked but it was a nice day in the water.

skunked ...does not look like it ... beaut finds mate ... I have still only seen two other Md's since I started over 3 months ago. Must admit my first thought at seeing them was "oh great they have got it all" - but now I see the folly in that. Congrats Dew.

Even with that 15" coil on the PI he missed the studs. Always nice to see someone leaving with a nice piece of gold thou. He was a fairly new hunter the Xcal guy had been at it since 64'. Nice older guy. Its all about getting out there having fun.

I did learn something out there thou. I was using reverse disc just checking signals and HALF those quarters i found didnt change the threshold when in disc mode. I confirmed this after talking to the other Xcal user when he told me he found NO quarters and i was hunting behind him. I may have been getting a little more depth since i can run my Xcal with sensitivity on 10 in both disc and PP. Guess that convinced me digging a few more targets might be worth the time in the water...... at least where ive been hunting.
