Pretty Exciting picture! Congrats! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

About 3 rings each 2 weeks...pretty darn good.

I've got a cousin who's a jeweler in Massachusetts ... I'm going to have to give him a call to see if he might want some of the diamonds from my gold rings. I haven't talked with him for too many years.

What do you do about the better diamonds (1/10 carat+)?

okay, so the bands go to melt. However, it seems like you would get a much better price on ebay for the ones with stones? I haven't tried that yet, but seems like the value of the jewelry would be much higher than melt value alone. You have found far more in this one year that I have found in my last 6 years hunting :notworthy: Nice job. HH, Ralph

Great year! Some very nice rings. While Ralph above has some great points the sale of intact rings, the ones with little weight will surely sell better than scrap.I am not sure Ebay is the route as I have had some bad dealings with gold sales there! One bad buyer can ruin a lot of profit! Believe me there out there just praying to screw you.The diamonds are useless unless you can find an old bench jeweler, still making jewelery! Now once those diamonds go to 3/4ct or more than you can sell them and make some money.

Since ive started water hunting thats kind of been my question.... spot melt over selling to a buyer. I know ARA has a jeweler that pays for some diamonds.... but i cant believe they dont sell some rings to buyers where they could make a ton more money on an appraised ring over spot. I mean that would just be good business logic to me. I know the people that send them in dont care... they are pleased to get 98 % .... but there is money to be made to jewelers id think as well.

Doc,
Let me know what your cousin says! All the precious stoned rings I save! The others will be melted! Some time I will try to sell the good ones! Not sure about how to sell them! Any ideas???

Thanks,
SnT

VW&B,
The four Class rings have no information to return to owners or relatives! However I have been able to return two others (gold) and a silver(non class) ring! Sooo.... that means my total gold rings are really 72!!! :laughing9:
