Paul showed me a real piece of history today that he dug from one of our Jersey Shore Beaches !!

care to share what beach? i do trips to ocmd and at city
but harrisburg pa and nj are quite a haul from each other... care for a new hunting partner?

Nice score! I am surprised that it is not pitted. A silver coin here from the salt water beach is wafer thin and pitted real bad.

Les....this coin and the other one that Paul found came up from a beach replenishment project and were most likely dredged out of the seabed after sitting for atleast a couple of centuries encased in sand....surprisingly I have found a couple of 8 reale coins that have looked that good from the same type of scenario....
