My apologies for not posting more lately, but since the finds were pretty modest, I decided to save up a few hunts worth of material to condense down into just one post.

That said, these last few hunts have been bleak. Not only isn't the silver there, but the coins are drying up too. Last night was the worst... finding only 331 yen (that didn't even cover the parking). I guess I can't complain though, as I've done pretty good over here.

I have a mission though, and it looks like things are working out as planned. If my friends and I keep going at the rate we are, the summer hunts should be a lot faster, easier, and shorter in duration since there won't be very much that's deep. Our beaches don't churn like the East or West coast of the US, so most things linger around a lot longer before getting buried deep.

So here's the picture of the best of the last 4-5 hunts. The gold claddagh ring is 14k and the other one isn't stamped at all. That bugger was DEEP and barely audible on the Excal. 2 full scoops straight down popped it out. The only markings are the hand etched initials. The acid tests give me a good 14k, as the 18k slowly dissolved the scratch test and turned greenish in color. But the 14k acid held true. Dunno... I'm always suspect of anything that's not stamped. That one weighs in at 3 grams.

The silver wasn't that bad, but even that's getting hard to find. I'm going to have to find some more places to hunt. Things are drying up round here and if my finds don't start picking back up, it's going to kill my yearly averages.

Happy Hunting everyone....

Nate

The keepers might be getting fewer, but the sites are
still producing some nice looking gold and silvers. Like
the gold claddagh ring. :icon_thumleft:
