    Which detector to bring?

I am planning to detect on the beaches in Maui. I was going to bring 1 detector. I either am bringing my Minelab Explorer or my MInelab Excalibur. I have lots of experience with the Explorer, but a little experience with the Excalibur. I know the Excalibur is supposed to be the best beach detector, but I am not sure? Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks

    Re: Which detector to bring?

Since the Excal is waterproof I'd take that because of the salt spray. In the sand you won't need the display and it has no advantage as far as depth or ease of use goes. Second guessing the display will only slow you down.
