There oughtta be a law...I found the world's ugliest ring today; also a vintage

Coca Cola bottle.

:hello2: Hi,

60* out there today :icon_sunny:

Hunted the shoreline as the tide was slowly receding.

I tell you this has to be the ugliest ring I have ever found....who would even wear something like this?> :o

Also found an embossed Coca Cola bottle 57-36; this style bottle was manufactured between the years 1951 and 1958.

I did some research on it:

Evolution Bottle #8 - Years: Early To Mid 1950's

Important Words On Bottle: "MIN CONTENTS 6 - FL. OZS."

Description: Hobbleskirt, 6 oz. raised letter, crown sealed, returnable.

Am still trying to figure out the "anchor" embossing on the bottom....any help / info on this marking would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a couple of pics...and a link to the history of the Coca Cola bottles:

http://www.thedieline.com/blog/2009/11/17/the-evolution-of-the-coca-cola-contour-bottle.html

Thanks for taking the time to look at these finds from today...(non-remarkable clads not included )

Maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow and find a decent ring ...hope so, anyway.

Lorraine

Hey Lorraine if I said I saw that same ring on the antique road show for 1.5 million would it get prettier?
I didn't! It is kinda funky, but still a ring! Good luck may you find gold in your scoop!

Speaking of cats: here's a pic of the latest addition to our family.... "ROMEO"

He was born under our garage in April, and we adopted him.

He's a heartwarmer , but he's got a " cattitude" for sure...he rules the roost here.

My research paid off on the anchor embossment:

It is an Anchor Hocking logo with an "H" superimposed:

"ANCHOR HOCKING GLASS COMPANY, LANCASTER, OHIO ( AND OTHER PLANT LOCATIONS).

Here is a link about the company 's history for those who may be interested:

Please don't say the "L" word. We have enough of those we all have to follow.

Nice bottle - some are worth a good chunck of change.
UGLY RING IS RIGHT.
