    1-22 AM Silver

Hit the beach this morning bright and early(well it wasn't bright yet). Hunted for about 3 hours the tide was a big negative! A lot of beach showing and it took a while to figure out what area to concentrate on. Finally found a nice line and starting popping out targets. Still no gold for me yet this year, but I did manage a Sterling ring with a light blue stone(stamped 925) and a broken sterling necklace with a cross. Cross and necklace are both stamped 925. Hope everyone else fared well!

The celtic cross and sterling chain are pictured as found. Just a quick rinse. Here is all the info on back of cross:

"Irish Made" in center of back
"925" base of cross on back
something on the barrel near the top can't make out yet but I'll try after cleaning.

    Measures 1 1/8" by 5/8"

Thanks for the comments, I'll be cleaning it shortly. I'll post pics!

Aaron, terrific cleaning job on that cross

Do you think you could get a nice close-up shot of that lettering on the barrel?

I'd love to see what it reads and try to figure it out for you

    Lorraine,

Thanks for your offer to help! Here are the best I could get with my macro lens. My best guess is:

    FNM followed by 3 symbols??

Aaron, I tried so many sites in search of this hallmark, but was unsuccessful

There is a celtic cross ( plain...not as pretty as the one you found) selling on e-bay that is also stamped "FNM", but I'm sorry I could not find the origin of this stamping.

    Lorraine,

Thanks for your efforts. I too searched quite a bit and couldn't come up with much. I don't believe it is very old though just based on where it was found as well as the manufacture.
