January's loot

Starting this year off better than last year. The take was $16.09 in US clad, 32.50 in local ($18.36) ($34.45 total). Got the usual beach jewelry and some gold, silver and my second titanium (this one has some 18K). Did pretty good on earrings, a couple junkers but found a silver and with 14K and an 18K hoop. The real keepers are the Tiffany & Co 18K ?Atlas? ring which I found going on EBay for $1,200.00 used and an 1876 German pfennig ($3.00 - $60.00) based on condition. I?m guessing I got the $3.00 one but it is the oldest coin I have ever found in 12 years of detecting.
12 rings total - 4 junk, 5 gold, 1 silver, 1 Titanium and a what?s it. It is heavier than titanium, softer than tungsten and doesn?t stick to a magnet. The gold & Plat acid test are inconclusive.
Thanks for looking and good luck out there.

Re: January's loot

Nice pile of goodies! When you said heavier than Titanium, and softer than tungsten (tungsten carbide is just below diamond, not much will scratch it, let alone cut it, except diamond. You can grind one on a concrete block for a minute, and it will still look brand new. That is why they have to be lazer cut to work them, cant cut it. And titanium is about as light as aluminum.) you basicly have almost any metal. Maybe it is stainless steel. Try silver test.
