I had a couple of hours to beat the rain this morning, so I hit a nearby drained beach that I've worked a couple of times this winter with pretty good results.I dropped the disc on my xl-pro to salt and for the first half hour dug several small pieces of foil.Just as I was ready to start ignoring these low vdis I hit a solid 8 vdi and as I dug expecting another gum wrapper out popped this what I then thought was a trinket.Upon closer examination I found the markings 10k-1tw.I got home expecting cz's but my Mizar proved me wrong. The 1tw of diamonds proved to be the real thing!4.5 grams 10k and 1tw diamonds.Probably the nicest piece of jewelry I've ever found.I was so excited that I went back and spent a half hour looking for a chain but..alas to no avail.Thanks...DBULL

Nice cross! Chains can be hard to pick up. Try using no disc, and dig it all, you will be surprised what you will find. Gold jewelry is about the first thing that is discriminated out. Especially low carat gold jewelry. I would go over that general area where you found the cross, and use no disc, and work it slow and cover every inch. Keep your coil even to the ground and as close to it as possible. Listen for a tiny difference, and scrub the ground or just above it when you hear something. Dig those little quiet sounds.

I spent a good hour in both disc with zero disc and all metal this morning searching for a chain.I found every small piece of rust in the general area where the cross was found but no chain.I'm beginning to think the chain may not have been lost.I realize that the only thing I would probably hit on would be the clasp, which would probably be a very weak target. At least I got the good part!
