I got a diamond selector II on ebay.It wasn't too expensive and does a good job of identifying diamonds from CZ's .I am happy with mine.

That seems to be the most popular name in cheap diamond testers. I ordered one a couple weeks ago and I'm still waiting on it to arrive from China [I think]
I read that there's a bit of a learning curve to it? It doesn't come with a manual? There are a couple youtube videos explaining how it works and how to decipher the tones.
Looking forward to trying it out.
Maybe it's time to stop not doing what you pretended you can do and can't, and start doing the thing that you can't do, but can no longer pretend that you can.

Re: advice on a diamond tester
If you decide to purchase an inexpensive diamond tester be aware that it will be fooled by Moissanite. Moissanite is a simulated diamond that will read as a genuine diamond on a standard diamond tester. There are testers that will differentiate between the two. So if you have a tester that does not test for Moissanite then you will not know for sure if your big "diamond" is the real deal or not.
