Unusual Silver Pendant Today
Ken and I went to a beach just south of us today. Not many targets in the water but I dug an unusual religious silver pendant. It is either a Greek or Russian Orthodox image. The pendant opens up and you can view both sides of the pendant. The hallmark has KBblW. Perhaps someone on the forum has an idea of the make. It is about the size of a dime.

It appears to be the image of Christ with hands crossed.

Les, I believe that the image is that of "Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows"; there should be 7 arrows in her arms..although I can make out only 6 ..maybe I just can't see the 7th one clearly.
Here is the link to where I found this info...I believe this is a Russian Cross on the Pendant
Wish I could've found that pendant...it is precious!
here's the link...scroll down to image 39 to see of what I am explaining.
I hope this helps ID'ing this find.

I think you are correct, only difference is the crossed hands. Send me your E Mail address and I will send the larger photo I took. The pendant looks very old.

Very very nice find! I like the unique ones. I work with a couple guys. One is Hungarian and one is Armenian. The Armenian went to school in Russia. I'll show them the pic tomorrow. Regardless of it's religeous denomination it sounds like a prayer box/pendant. You just need to know the origin. Will get back to ya.

It looks, from the construction, as though it could be a locket. Does it open?

Les, that would be a keeper for me, too. It is very poignant, but then I am a man of faith -- even if Protestant!
