Virgin Beach finds

Thought everyone would be interested in what a VIRGIN (never been detected) beach has in store.
This tiny beach (50 ft. long) was located by me 2 months ago. It had been in operation from 1945 to 1950 as a Club. Then was shut down. Detecting was NOT easy as I had to contend with 6 to 12 inches of muck and weeds before I hit beach sand.
There are no coins dated later than 1950. Lots of mercs and buffalo nickels and Standing Liberty quarters. All dimes and quarters are silver.
It's been a long time (20 years) since I've had the opportunity to hit a never detected beach. Back in the 60's and 70's, finds like this were common!!!!!!!!!!

I've detected this area 9 times for a total of 36 hours.
Here are the pics. Enjoy.

Yes, finds like these were common back then. There are still finds like these to be made for those interested in detecting researched areas off the radar of todays lazy hunters. If we only go where the finds were, that is about all we'll find.

Good job,

Wow all those rings in 36 hours. Way to go. Chesapeake here, I could use a crash course on how to find old and no longer use spots. Your heart rate must of been off the hyper tension scale.

The oldest class ring is 1925. This person would be 100 years old by now.
The oldest coins were the 2 barber coins. All but 3 of the SLQ's have dates. Is there a date restorer for the SL Quarters? 2 of them have no stars under the eagle.
And this beach was in operation for only 5 years. There is nothing better to get the heart pounding than the glint of gold in the scoop.
I did research another beach this year that operated for 25 years, but someone had beat me to it. It still yielded some barber coins, other silver and 5 gold rings. I could only imagine what I had missed. Day late and a dollar short!

The beauty part of all this is that there are thousands more "virgin beaches" still out there waiting to be discovered.
