Hi all im trying to decide on a detector mostly for sand surf I live on the coast in south Massachusetts.I cannot find any local resources on what the mineral content is or any help figuring out what would be the best detector for my area.I do not have a prefference on manufacturer (I noticed that it is a big issue for some :laughing7: ) I looked around the forum but most hunting is done in florida.searching the web for info on mineralization in my area yeilds nothing.Generally my questions are. Are sand and surf detectors like the sandshark or seahunter not good for land use if I try relic hunting inland? where do i find out what the best type of detector is for my area? Its very rocky up here..

Thanx in advance

Thanks for all the info here on tnet .found local dealer and decided on a sand shark. It's got the right capabilities a good warranty and fits my budget...hope to post my own finds soon.
