The other day I spoke with a co-worker who is not an MDer. I told him that I routinely find more in a one hour hunt than I do when I have all day to take my time and be very deliberate. Yesterday I went out twice. 3 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. I managed to find one gold band and 2 junkers, along with a few coins which will be posted in my monthly post. Today, although I was off I was limited on time due to a function at the school. So it was a fast and furious hunt.

The total take was 2 gold bands. The wide one being only 9K (my first) an ugly 18K monkey ring with a green stone, $21.00 US currency, 16 assorted coins, cheap sun glasses and a pair of corroded nail clippers. All within an hour and a half. Crazy!

My son received several certificates but he did get a Gold. The "Presidential Gold award for Educational Excellence". He was the only recipient for the entire High School.

Thanks for your patience. Good luck out there.

Your finds were excellent but your son's certificate is even more special. It stays with him a life time and can't get pawned.

Thanks for all your responses. Headed out tomorrow for a 2 week road trip through America's Bad Lands. Going to take some side trips to a couple colleges. I'm going to miss the beach. Funny thing is...for as bright as the kid is he doesn't listen when we tell him to put sun block on. He had gone out the day prior for a beach clean up service project and came home a lobster.

Thanks again and good luck out there!
