Re: What's a fair price for a CZ 20 to 21 up grade?

I have a question for all who have up graded their CZ 20 to a 21? Can you please private message me and tell me what Fisher was or is charging you to up grade your CZ 20 to a 21 in the last year or so, because as we all know, there are no more parts for the CZ 20, they can not be repaired, but I believe that a fair price should be charged.
First, we are at the mercy of the new people at Fisher, because they are about the only ones you can go to, to either repair or up grade your CZ 20. When I receive any messages from fellow CZ 20 owners here, I'll know what to do with mine, and clear up some issues I have with Fisher Lab's. I have been a loyal Fisher customer for many years, since I have been in this hobby since 1977, and have had 2 CZ 20's, 3 6a's, and a 4 scope, which in the past was charged a fair price for repairs when Fisher was owned by Fisher.
Please, I am not looking to cause any problems, but wouldn't you want to pay a fair price for repairs and up grades for any of your detectors? Thanks for any help on this matter, send me some quotes or estimates, because what I was just quoted for an up grade is not a fair price :BangHead: , and I refuse to pay it. I'd rather buy a new one and receive the life time guarantee, and let them absorb the cost of repairing the CZ21...

Well, we have some good opinions here, but... Fisher has doubled their prices for repairs, and Felix all of a sudden could not remember the price he told me Fisher was charging not more than a year ago. I was told 185.00 plus tax, now it's 290.00 plus tax. I don't like their attitude when you finally get them on the phone, and I'll repeat it here... two days to obtain a RA #, so I had to wait till Monday to mail out the unit, and a day and half to get an estimate after waiting for Felix to answer his voice mail, which he never even listened to because when I got through after leaving two voice mail mesages, he asked me for my RA #, so if he had to asked for that #, he never listened to his voice mails. Some one said that the process of removing all the guts, and rebuilding the 20 is not documented and Felix refused to tell me everything that is up graded by continualy changing the subject and become annoyed that I was asking questions... Fote note, was left waiting on yhe line for almost an hour and Rep, didn't even asked if I wanted to leave a voice mail.

Had 2 fishers CZ 20's since the late 90's with both I would say in that time they have found me over 13 thousand in gold, it would not be hard to spend 300 each to keep them alive and well.

I'm a new detector, and bought a used cz21. Within a month it needed to be repaired. Although it took a couple of calls to get thru to felix, from there everything went great. Work was done in a matter of a couple of days, and to me it was like a new machine. Price was more than reasonable. I'm very satisfied with their customer service.
