Saint Mary - was completely covered in about 1mm of green crust.
this one was from last Monday - it was a fun hunt - heavy seas eroded a winter beach down south and I found about a 30 ft sq pocket of goodies on the slope about 20m off a large dune cut - nearly all were at same depth approx 12 inches deep, $32 bucks in change including 12 $2 coins, a huge mens ring that I got excited over than deflated when there was no hallmark - looks like stainless but I will test! 925 earing + other junker chains etc - Anyway the pendant came out completely covered in fine green crystally crust- I could not even see the loop at the top - I paid it little due on the beach and only noticed it's potential upon sifting through the days finds later on - it has taken ages to clean it up and I'm still not there - heavy for it's size and I'm guessing 9ct gold because I found a deep mens hallmarked 9ct band in near same green condition a while back -will need a test but I'm confident it is not plated. I also get the feeling it had been buried for a long time for the alloys in the gold to have had time to crust up? HH

Nice day of hunting the beaches and surf Smoogle. I also
think that with the crust built up on it, it has been there
for several days...or three anyway! Well done.

If Gold is where you find it, I need to look somewhere else.....
