I had the day off today so I got a jump start on the weekend water hunting gold using my CTX 3030 in South Florida. The two rings in front are a 10K with small diamond chips and a 14K band. The toe ring and class ring are marked 925, I also found and returned two other pieces of gold today. A frantic lady had lost a heavy 14K gold band and another lady close by had just lost her 14K ear ring.
I was able to find both pieces of gold and make both ladies very happy.

You had a great day of jewelry finds Gary! It's nice that you were able to get some silver and gold for yourself and help those ladies get their respective gold back! Hope you find some more gold soon.
Gary,
Now that you have several hours behind the 3030 how does the hunting end stack up with the Excal and Sov GT? I assume it's just as deep and just as sensitive to small/finer gold? Am also curious about the 17" coil's performance on wet sand. Sweet finds!

I have seen no drop off in finds now I am basically using the CTX 3030 all the time for beach and water hunting, I have given my Excalibur and Sovereign GT an extended break while I am trying new things out with my CTX. It is sensitive to small gold and silver jewelry finds even with the stock 11 inch smart coil and I have found quite a few thin gold chains (with pendants) and small thin ladies gold rings. The monster 17 X 13 inch search coil is scary deep but even it cannot help me on the very sanded in South East Florida beaches, this winter time should be interesting on the Treasure Coast searching for Spanish treasure using this search coil. I bought my CTX 3030 to compliment my Excal or SovGT but so far all I have used is this metal detector since it arrived on the door step. It is an easy and fun machine to use and it helps me to find gold which also makes it a hard machine to put down.
Cheers Gary
