I think a lot will depend on what you are trying to clean. Gold isnt hard to clean. Silver.... i use electrolysis or the foil, baking soda, salt in hot water. Cleans up pretty well without a lot of effort. Ive used tumblers and jewelry ultra sonic but went right back to these other methods.

Mine. Doesn't do anything but loosen a bit of sand. I use the tin foil method on silver if it doesn't have stones, silver polish if it does. If its good gold and diamonds I have a jeweler clean it.
