The ring I posted the other day is called Siam Silver and was handmade in Thailand between 1920 and 1970. The black part is called nielloware. It is created by carving out areas of silver and baking a sulfur/metal powder into the carved out area. The symbol is Mekkala, the goddess of lighting. The ring is upside down in the pic...thanks to Casper for tipping me off to what this ring was.
