TF..... you need to get one of our FISHING TAPE MEASURES... it think some are in CM lol. You can use the Xcal anywhere IF you have a good ear, but i prefer a TIF machine like an explorer to work trashy areas.... just gives you a lot more information. It would be like using a PI in the towel line if you dont know what you are doing. Im also looking at a PI as a back up.... its not always depth that brings home the prize, its sensitivity to say gold. A target like a 14K gold earring stud my be undetectable to a Xcal just a few inches in the sand because of the factory salt setting.... and yes even the Karat makes a difference is what im finding. Yes a good PI may pick those missed targets up...... at least thats what im hoping.
