Well, this is getting almost ridiculous....almost.
I went back to dog beach and this time brought the Big scoop. It was a beautiful day and the detecting was slow but interesting anyway. We are pretty lucky living in California. I ws digging quite a few deep coins and also the deep iron. A piece of junk jewrly that I'm keeping...just in case. Then a super loud "good" signal. It was only down about 4". It's a purple ring with a stone. Yep..I could make out the 925. Silver!
I didn't need any more after that ...it's a nice ring (being cleaned). I still had enough energy but was thirsty. I'll have to not forget my water fix. I decided to head back taking a higher line on the beach but still in the wet sand. A nice signal and from about 6" deep came this yellow fishing lure. I took it out of the scoop and noticed there were a lot of detail for a fishing lure. Then a closer look revealed it as part of a quinceanera bracelet and it sure looks like Gold! I spent a good twenty minutes looking for the other half but with no luck.
Well my thirst got the better of me and I decide to head for a water fountain on the way to my car. That water was good ... almost as good as having a new piece of gold in my pocket (plus a silver ring). The gold is 4.56 grams but unmarked. It does have a name and a date engraved and I'll be trying to find the owner. She'd be 26 years old by now.
