I'm doing well, Sandy has passed, left behind distorted beaches and visions of entire treasure inside my head, and yet I am still at home resisting that never ending urge to swing my thing until I hear a ping, ding, or ring. (Actually I'm busy mounting a huge winch on the front of my 4x4 so I can winch the entire galleon to shore!)

This entire post was meant to be taken in light. But you are correct, serious addiction to anything is a concern. Sorry if this thread offended you. Wasn't meant to offend anyone.

I too am a beachoholic. It's so bad for me that I resort to hunting inland "beaches" while I wait for my chance to return to the ocean. Wish I could be on the east coast so bad right now.

I sent my wife some really cool video's of a guy detecting in Europe finding some 1700-1800 items; "If you want to take a 20 min break, check these video's out"
Nat Geo show, Thames Treasure Hunters/ Lucky Muckers on you tube
I thought *wow, that's more history related* and sent it. She replied with: Yeah, I'll get right on that. Here's an interesting one you may want to watch:

I got the point. End of conversation

Just got back from checking out the waves from my perch on the rocks at my favorite beach..couldn't stay away!

...wind is starting to pick up.

p.s. seriously, all the highways in CT are closed to traffic, flooding is rampant along the coastline..homes along the beaches are once again being destroyed by a hurricane...I feel sorry for all...especially those who are still in the process of rebuilding their homes from Irene's devastation not so long ago.

    Take care , friends

Aren't those CZ coil covers a real hoot to get off! Mine was even tough putting on but getting it off without breaking it took quite a while.

LOL, I certainly wasn't offended. I just wanted to add a disclaimer so that I didn't offend anyone. Sometimes folks have thin skin and I certainly don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers. Good luck out there hunting!

I'm Charlie...I'm a Deputy Sheriff in NC and I'm an addict. I'm not currently trying to seek help for my problems nor do I want any. I'm taking off work Friday just to hit the Outer Banks. I was there Saturday getting sandblasted when Sandy was rolling in. That was my first beach hunt in nasty weather...let's just say crack hasn't got a thing on metal detecting. HoOkEd! Vein meet needle...needle meet vein. Yes sirrrrrrrr!
