Hi:hello:

Sunshine...high 40's-low 50's ...perfect day for detecting!:icon_thumright:

Hunted wet sand slope; targets were in the 8" -12" range....lots of digging to get to the treasures.

The Federal bird band is the second bird band that I have found these past couple of years.

I will phone the proper contact on Monday; here is a link to info on bird bands for anyone who may be interested; I see some for sale on e-bay; I enjoy finding them.

Almost missed the small ring...it was so thin laying in the overturned wet sand, it looked like a piece of small, thin wire...not easy to see.

War nickel was so corroded ; tried my best to clean it and save some of the silver on it.

Here's some pics

Thanks for lookiing

Lorraine

Nice finds Lorraine. :hello: The "War" nickel is 35% silver, 56% copper, and 9& manganese. At today's $29 an ounce, it's valued at about $1.61. U.S. Silver War Nickel Melt Value Calculator Hey, every little bit helps. :dontknow:
But for me, I place more value in it's history. Amazing to be able to still find them. Thanks for sharing more of your always interesting finds.
