More gold and silver today.....strange gold find on a silver bracelet

Hi,

Well, I returned to yesterday's beach to pick up what I missed..and I was pleasantly surprised with what I found.

All finds were in dry sand..."bare bones" area...and were not deep.

The ? copper/? brass cuff bracelet is interesting in that it has a tiny hands on each end of the bracelet...wonder what that signifies?

The silver bracelet ( 8.27 gms) was quite tarnished and thickly encrusted...difficult to clean.

There is a tiny "925" stamping on the movable clasp...too tiny to photograph, so I acid- tested it.....result + silver.

As I was examining the bracelet, I noticed an attached appendage that had a dull gold hue, and it was encrusted with green and brown material.


Remembering a 10 K ring that I had found several years ago which was also encrusted with similar material, I decided to acid test this appendage, and sure enough acid test was + for 10K


In retrospect, I was confused at the lower than usual tone for silver that the GT gave off on the bracelet...must've been the gold?


Now, I must tell you that this is a very small gold find..I'm talkin' " really small" here ( 0.16 gms)...not a major find, but I was delighted to discover it on the bracelet.

You never know where that gold will show up...check those bracelets carefully!

You continue to amaze me with how nice you can clean up silver and your photographic skills show in your photos too, nice closeup work! As said above, I agree, there was a charm on that loop.....something more for you to find out there!

What brand of acid test did you purchase?

I have two: 1) Preliminary test in which I drop gold testing acid from a glass stylet( clear result = + ; black result=neg

2) Mizer electronic gold test kit ( renders the K number)
