Yes Okinawa, but no where near white beach. This was Yomitan at Nikko Alivia Resort!

Thanks firemac, this year has been good. I have been having some health issues and have missed a lot of hunting time.

Went out to the beach to meet the unexploded ordnance team to show the my hand grenade. Was hoping to video them blowing it up. They ended up sending two cops to verify it was a live grenade. Spent about a hour looking for more. They ended up calling the Japanese Self-Defense force bomb unit to come pick it up.

Sorry to hear they took it away.

Most likely for the best, I suspect it is cheaper to buy a disarmed one in good condition on the internet then to
find some one to do it for you.

Hopefully they and not you looked for the other Grenades.

If they were using a detector, it should be designed for detecting mines - not coins.
and most likely use protective gear.

It would of been neat getting a video of it being detonated,
Unfortunately, it is a one way street in that curiosity may kill the cat.
You can be assured that it will never bring it back.

A detector induces and eddy current in the object it sweeps over, which causes that object to heat up.
