That's what I'm banking on. I have 2-3 small places to try on the way there!

Fletch88, There is a man there, I think his name is Bill, he lives in Carrabelle and you you see his "Trinket Boxes" WOW, I've met him a few times, real nice guy. He goes all over the areas around there. I've hunted a lot of places around there also. Hope you hit on something good, you never know!

Thanks Lady Pirate! I guess I got "skunked" but did enjoy picking up the clad I found. And cleaning up junk. Only got to swing the Tiger Shark a few minutes on dry land and hit a wheatie not 3 steps from car in a real trashy area.

Fletch88, it's still wonderful to get out in the fresh air and also get exercise though. Even on a no-finds day of hunting is better then a day of watching the boob tube. Did you hit the park to the right of 98 down the road? I never did make it there. I'll look on google earth and get you the road it's on in a minute, and put the info. up.

I have been down vacationing in that area and I think that would be a great spot. There are also spots between Carabelle and Eastpoint that look interesting as well.

Yes I gridded about a 100' area on east end with Sand S. towards end of day. Just a few clad and 9000 bottle caps! I found more at Bald Point area including the unspent ammo round. Never tried Tiger S. on dry or wet beach sand due to time restraints. I stopped by old hotel site with TS and just to check how well discrimination worked on unit. That's when I hit the wheatie 3 steps from car. Totally trashy area with everything from C batteries to 1000's of can slaw pieces! Hard to knock those out with any detector.

Thanks Scarlett, will check that out one day soon maybe. It's about 3 hours from my house in south central GA. I think my wife's getting a little tired of me wanting to detect almost every weekend at beach and several evenings during the week locally! Uh oh! It's so addictive!

Oh I thought you meant on beach side of 98. You're talking a regular public land park? Ok that's good too! A guy I know found a 1700's Spanish coin in a park once that was built in 1962. He thinks it may have been hauled in in fill dirt.

Fletch88, give magnet fishing a try. Lots of places down there and I suppose around your area also. It's fun also. I've been hunting up in Georgia also. Bainbridge area and other places. Good Luck.

What is magnet fishing?

I'm not sure. I've heard of putting magnets on bottom of scoop to grab iron while digging. Not sure that's what this is.
